STAT 574 Survey Sampling
(3:3:0). Prerequisite: A 300-level course in statistics or
permission of instructor. Review of probability and statistics, basic definitions of sampling,
simple random sampling, stratified sampling, systematic sampling, cluster sampling, estimation
problems. Emphasizes practical problems encountered in conducting a survey as well as the
theoretical background. Class project involving the design of an actual survey and analysis
using a statistical package.
