ABSTRACT

In this talk rules are sketched out for localizing a target in a field of sensors using Bayes' Theorem. The sensors may be subject to false detections. The localization procedure has been tested in a simulation model. It was used to investigate the impact of sequential correlation of glimpses made by omni-directional sensors as well as the impact of false targets on the localization process. The procedure performs well as long as the sequential correlation between glimpses is modest and there are not too many false targets. The talk will described the way false detections were modeled and the manner serial correlation over time was simulated.
