Kevin Wright and William J. Kennedy (presentation, An Interval Analysis Approach to the EM Algorithm)
Kevin Wright is a Senior Research Associate at Pioneer Hi-Bred International. Kevin received both a BS and MS at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, then studied at Iowa State University in the statistics department and received the PhD degree in 1999. At Iowa State, Kevin worked as a Research Assistant in the Survey Section while pursuing research interests in using Interval Analysis with statistical computing.William J. Kennedy is Professor of Statistics at Iowa State University. His research interest is statistical computing. He has held several offices in the ASA including editor of The American Statistician (1985-1987) and Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics (1995-1997). He also organized the 7th Interface Symposium which was held at Iowa State University in 1973.
David A. van Dyk (presentation, Fitting Mixed-Effects Models Using Efficient EM-Type Algorithms)
David A. van Dyk is an Assitant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Harvard University. His research intrests include applications of maximum likelihood and Bayesian methods to missing data problems, especially computational aspects; hierarchical models; mixture models; and statistical applications in the social and physical sciences, especially high energy astrophysics. David received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1995.
